Little man is sick...

So...Its been a few days since I updated...and actually, I haven't even checked blogs for the last two days...ahhh well..Im sure no one has even noticed..lol..but I have been busy. My little nephew Jacob got sick again, on Monday...With him, the flu is a major deal...with his little lungs already messed up, he tends to quit breathing when he's full of junk in the chest. So, needless to say, he was in the Children's Hospital. But, they caught it pretty quick this time, so he was home again that night...But I spent the day with him yesterday so his mom could do last minute school stuff for his brothers...He is defiantely feeling better, but it takes a couple weeks for him to get back to his usual perky self...So, if you don't hear from me for awhile...that's why...
Anyways...take care and I will check in soon.

Almost over....

So...I think this is the first time I have ever said this, but...thank God school is almost over for the year...YEAH!!!!! I am at the point that I am soooo tired of getting up at 6:00am to get bitched at by kids that just don't want to wake up....lol...My son, Douglas, his last day was Wednesday...he will graduate from 8th grade tonite at 6:00pm...he had his graduation trip yesterday...they went to Universal Studios for the day..he got home at 11 last nite...he had such a good time..and I'm sooo glad he is done with that school...I have said before that the school he goes to is a major pain in my ass...really...but the education he received was so worth everything I went thru with him...That was the most important thing of all...his education..not his happiness, or liking his teachers...lol...hell, I didn't like most of them either, but that's not what school is all about...I do know that it DOES help if they like the teacher, but Doug likes to learn...so, he's one of those kids who just does the work...even without a teacher, he would still learn on his own, because the work challenges him, and he likes that aspect...So, even not liking the teachers, he did well...and I am proud of him...so the trip was pretty much his reward for doing such a great job the last three years...but on that note, he moves on to HIGH SCHOOL!! (Which makes me feel even older than I am..lol..but it happens...) Anyways, he's really looking forward to starting the culinary program at his new school...as am I....
Tonite, my smoker child..aka Stephanie...well she starts a two day program with the sheriff's office..the CAT Program, it's called..stands for Collision Avoidance Training. It's offered to new drivers 16-17 yrs old...it supposed to teach them to try not to panic in different crash scenes...Tonite it starts with four hours of in class teaching....videos about different car accidents involving teen drivers...then saturday morning, 8 a.m. they start eight hours of intense driving at the local airport....They will have hands on learning with an instructor in each kids vehicle. This is what the gist of the program is...

Five basic skills, actions and/or techniques of driving are identified as areas that teens need experience or training to safely operate a motor vehicle. Steering, acceleration, deceleration, backing and skid control/skid recovery are the tasks addressed in this program. Training exercises used in this program have been adopted from the law enforcement-training manual and approved by the Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission. Student drivers must complete the following exercises:

Evasive maneuvers
Threshold/emergency braking
Forward serpentine Cornering
Backing
Skid recovery
All classes are conducted under the direct supervision of certified high liability driving instructors. Instructors ride with each student and students move to the next exercise only after the instructor feels the student has demonstrated a reasonable degree of skill. The Collision Avoidance Training program has proven to be one of the most effective programs at reaching teens, modifying their attitudes and creating all around better teenage drivers. PHS (Partners of Highway Safety) has preached for many years that the leading cause of teenage crashes is inexperience.

So...that's what she will be doing tomorrow...and hopefully, she will learn some good stuff, without wrecking her car in the process..LOL...each teen will use their own vehicles..had to provide notorized copies of license, registration and insurance..lol...too cool...they didn't have anything like that when I was 16, that's for sure...
As for Elizabeth...well..she's only ten..and still in elementary school..so there is nothing big and exciting happening for her...other than the fact its summer vacation and she is just ready to start going to her grandma's for the summer..video games, pool...tv...what more can a 10 yr old ask for??...lol...
And so....that's about all....Take care....drive safe...and have a great weekend..don't forget...it's Motorcycle Awareness Month...so keep those eyes peeled for the bikes...don't take someone out...take care to notice your surroundings...

Its MOTORCYCLE AWARENESS MONTH

MOTORCYCLE AWARENESS MONTH!!!!!!

Not too much to talk about today...Not much is going on as usual...Spent the day yesterday cleaning my sis in laws house...She keeps me in my cell phone, if I clean for her once a month...so, needless to say...Thats what I do to keep my cell...lol..gotta have it, ya know..
It rained like a bitch this morning...Not that I know exactly how a bitch rains..but I digress...What I'm trying to say is that it poured...really hard...and not for nothing, we definately need it...the whole damn state is burning down from lack of it...the problem is, that it rains TOO hard, so it doesn't really soak into the ground...it just floods and runs off into retention ponds...ahhh well...I guess every little bit helps...
Spent the weekend watching movies...as usual...lets see...I watched Must Love Dogs..then An Unfinished Life w/ Robert Redford, J Lo and Morgan Freeman...very good movie...we enjoyed it...Dr Dolittle 3...stupid..but the kids liked it..and last was Guess Who...Bernie Mac and Ashton Kutcher...was very funny...but these movies are all pretty much the same...but hey..I guess it is all just mindless fun..I do want to go see United 93..as blogger buddy Red did this weekend...I think its a movie everyone should see...just in case they've forgotten....Some people need to remember, some people can never foget...
The kids are all still kickin...fixing to kick Doug's ass...he tends to start getting into trouble by the end of the school year...and let me tell ya, his school..well you just can't do that....you can not fart sideways in that school without a discipline phone call...I shit you not...its very very annoying, but I truly believe in their education program. Its very good, and advanced, very computer oriented...he's in 8th grade, but his english class counts towards high school 9th grade. So, with any luck, he will graduate in three years instead of four. It really depends on the Culinary Program..if it can be done in that time..if not, he will go the four years for that...I do have to give him credit...he knows what he wants to do...Now, if he would just stay the hell out of trouble...He just really hates to be told what to do, and when to do it...which he doesn't have that option...i mean, hell..he's just a kid...but they realllly don't put up with the attitude...as a matter of fact, he's suspended thursday, as he threw someones books on the floor, off the desk...little bit of a temper problem...lol...so I told him one more phone call from that school from now until the 18th, and he loses his graduation trip...they are going to Universal Studios..(that kinda pissed him off, but like I told him, its very simple...stay the hell out of trouble)...and imagine, he's only graduating Middle School, for God's sake..but the school opened three years ago, and he started three years ago, so its the First full 6-8 graduating class...so, its more a big deal...same with the smoker's school...it opened three years ago...so IF she graduates next year..she'll be in the first full graduating class...but I must stress the IF...cuz it's still in question...
ahhhhh well...enough about that...I really do tend to bitch about the kids alot, don't I? Sorry about that...but better here, than at them...not that they listen, at all anyways....lol
SO....I guess that about sums it up from my end...I need to say one thing tho..it is Motorcycle Awareness Month...Please..Please....watch for motorcycles...its very important to be aware that they aren't easy to see...unless you, GOD FORBID, actually PAY attention to the road and whats around you...it only takes a second to wipe out someone on a motorcycle...and that person could be me...or my hubby...or anyone else that rides...Just wanted to pass that on...PLEASE be careful out there.

Same shit...different day....

Well...here it is...a whole nother month starting...my God, time is going by way too fricken fast...This morning I spent my time reading my blog from when I first started it...And honestly..it made me feel really sad....When I think about it, no one is here any more...Save for red and ash....How I miss everyone soooo much...it just really sucks...We really used to have alot of fun...and its sad to know it came to an end too quickly.
But as a wise blogger buddy once said...Be happy with what you had...too bad he also said he would always be here, even if it was to only comment...ahhh well...and so it goes...
Today is May Day...which means, what?...hell if I know...i know that a bunch of illegal alliens are planning some kind of walk out..whatever...I know that anna nicole smith gets to go after her dead husbands fortune...does any of that effect me??? Im thinkin not....but whatever keeps people happy, go for it...
The weekend was definately uneventful...I haven't been on the computer much anymore...I just check blogs and get the hell off...Its easier checking blogs these days, as no one seems to do it anymore, other than ash...red pops in every once in awhile too...D is still sick, Im sure....I hope to god she starts feeling better soon...and I hope that her life is going better than it was when I last talked to her...I did get my test results back a few weeks ago..and god forbid, I passed..so I have been busy applying with the school board, and figureing out which schools to apply at...all thought at this point of the year, its kinda stupid, as school is over in like 2 weeks...well...the last day is the 24th...but the last three days are half days...which is bullshit, really...lol...my son's last day will be the 18th...as he is graduating from middle school, and his principal already told my they don't have to come the last week if they pass their exams...which he will..im confident of that...now all he has to do is stay the hell out of trouble...which for him,well...lets just say that won't be easy...
Our air conditioner took a shit yesterday...which is typical...its just now starting to get hot during the day...so, it kinda goes without saying that of course it was going to happen now...tho, I know it could be worse..it coulda went in July or August...whatever...
Steph..aka the smoker...is finally ungrounded...she's back to driving to and from school...I hate when her dad takes the car away...I personally think thats ridiculous...I think there are other ways to punish her other than that...cuz truly, the only person who gets inconvenienced is me...which, I guess really doesn't matter to anyone...again...whatever
I have watched a few good movies over the last few weekends...Harold and Kumar's Search for White Castle...god, that was tooo fricken funny...as a former stoner, I could soooo relate to that movie...I haven't laughed that much over a movie in a long time...Umm...lets see...Raise your Voice..w/ Hillary Duff...that was actually pretty good...cheesy, of course...still made me cry, tho...Jarhead...really truly, I did enjoy that movie, contrary to what fellow friends have said...who didn't like it...I did...um...Yours, Mine and Ours...eh...was okay...Pride and Prejudice, well...I think the A&E version was much better, but all in all it was good...Red Eye, I liked it alot...oh..and Man of the House...again, it was pretty cheesy, but I did enjoy it...I watched Fever Pitch again...cuz I really thought it was a good movie, and I did end up watching Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire again...I have to say, I enjoyed that one more at home than I did at the theater...I don't know how I missed alot of it, I never went to the bathroom or anything, but it happened...so, I take back the old post of saying I hated it...I still think it could've been better, but it wasn't as bad as I thought...I also saw Narnia, The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe...which was soooo sooo good...That was one of my favorite books when I was little, and the movie, well....it so went with the book...I was very happy and I loved the Beavers...they were hysterical..
I also have been doing some reading...the Bartimeaus Trilogy...which is about magic, and stuff like that...good books...Im on the third and last book...tho I had to steal it from stephanie, so I could read it first...hehehhe...I also have been into these really crazy books Confessions of Georgia Nicolson..I just got the 7th book in the series...with more to come...its actually a teen book...written in a diary format...and the girl is 15 and a half...She's British...and holy shit, its some funny stuff...she calls the USA Hamburger-A-Go-Go Land...heheheh...anyways..its just silly...and she calls her boobs nunga nungas.....Needless to say, its very juvenille, but thouroughly enjoyable stuff...can't wait for the next one...nunga nungas...snort snort...lol
And thats about all from my end...we are all still hangin in there....still waiting to hear from some old blogger buddies...but, i know...don't hold my breath...lol...take care and have a great week.
